Conservation Trust

Our Mission

"To protect biodiversity, advocate sustainable development and promote ecological, cultural and educational programs that advance respectful relationships with the Earth, while at the same time safeguarding local cultural heritage".

CRCT is a San Francisco based, non-profit organization dedicated to protecting biodiversity, advancing sustainable development and promoting ecological, cultural, and educational programs that advance respectful relationships with the Earth in ways that safeguard local cultural heritage and help the local people participate actively in the conservation and potential of their own country. With the help of our volunteers and interns, CRCT works with and supports numerous Costa Rican grassroots community groups in their efforts to protect and recover endangered species and ecosystems, raise ecological awareness and promote sustainable living practices. CRCT believes that local people in key conservation zones should be the protagonists of the conservation of their own backyard, are capable problem solvers, and will sustainable develop and protect their local ecosystems with some support and guidance. Our work focuses on supporting and empowering them to do so.

C.R.C.T.:::: How to help ?

CRCT is currently raising funds to build an educational facility center and youth summer camp on the La Danta Project Site. The site is located in the northern part of the La Danta Biological Corridor, in the Perez Zeledon region of Costa Rica.

The land will serve as the project site for some of CRCT's programs, including sustainable development modeling and ecological, cultural and educational programs. Every contribution we receive will make a difference. Donor levels start at $25, and even a small donation will make a BIG difference.

We encourage all donors to visit the rainforest land they help protect. We want you to become intimate with the land and animals you help preserve. At the Tapir level or above, you will recieve additional member benefits such as free nights at Finca Tres Semillas, a Costa Rican-style bed & breakfast next to the La Danta Project Site and travel services by Tico Guide Travel to help get you there.

RED-LORED PARROT: $25.00

WHITE-NOSED COATI: $50.00

CHESTNUT-MANDIBLED TOUCAN: $100.00
