Created in Costa Rica in May 1985, the Neotropica Foundation was born in response to the pressing need to promote conservation through rational and sustainable use of natural resources. The Foundation therefore works to integrate and balance human activities and the preservation of biodiversity.

From the outset, the Neotropica Foundation has focused on two types of initiatives:
Specific field projects that demonstrate the potential of sustainable development in the areas near national parks, biological reserves and other protected areas. Research at the national, regional and local levels. These complementary aspects permit the Foundation to base its actions on a true understanding of the reality it addresses

Conservation of natural resources is made possible by the active participation of human beings; citizens of this planet who continually seek to improve their quality of life. Private business also plays a critical role in the search for options that improve production processes without hindering the development we require.
