La Leona Ecolodge, is a vacation spot that offers a unique experience for nature lovers and follows the philosophy of ecotourism. The idea for this pioneer project was born in 1978, when the Morales Polanco family had a dream: the founding of an eco tourism project in the area of Carate, neighboring the new founded Corcovado National Park. With this new Project, they became the first Costa Rican family to develop an ecolodge on the Osa Peninsula.

The unique design of the ecolodge invites you to enjoy the scenic beauty from the deck of your tent. You can feel the refreshing ocean breeze, and enjoy a romantic and colorful sunset. At the same time you can experience the magic atmosphere of the surrounding tropical rainforest with all its sounds and aromas. The tented camp stretches along the beach-front, providing spectacular panoramic views overlooking the Pacific Ocean; while you are in the heart of the rainforest. This might be the reason why our guests have expressed it like ¨being in paradise”, we have the exquisite combination of ocean and forest at the same place!

We offer you twenty double and single tents stretching along the beach frontwith the view to the Pacific Ocean and the Corcovado National Park. At La Leona Ecolodge, you can feel, hear and breathe the refreshing ocean and sleep with the sound of the waves, in the heart of the rainforest! You will be inspired from the magical feelings of the tropical lowland rainforest while enjoying a spectacular sunset with a glass of wine from the deck of your tent.
