The quality of drinking water in Costa Rica is very good. You can actually drink water anywhere in the country. However, because the water has a different composition than in other countries, tourists and our clients prefer to buy bottled water when going on tour or elsewhere.

However, while present at the hotel, you can ask for a glass of water from the bartender or waiter. Normally, water is free of charge, unless you request a glass of water and when asked if you prefer bottled you say yes, it will be charged.
